Recognizing Proficiency in
Curriculum-Based Writing:

NEW Benchmarks for Informative Writing

To give help to students on their journey to proficient writing, teachers need to have a good sense of what “proficiency” looks like, at every grade level. This 2-day workshop will give educators an opportunity to dive into brand new curriculum-based benchmarks, K-12, for informative writing. On the first day, we will work closely with those benchmarks, both at individual grade levels and system-wide. On the second day, educators are invited to actively use these benchmarks to analyze student work for instructional needs, and to score it – so, bring a set of your own student work! (For those who are unable to bring their own student work, we will supply a sample set.)
